According to the DA, The Department of Public Works owes R420 million in utilities, rates and taxes to municipalities across the country.
They confirmed this by a reply which was received to a question submitted to the national minister of public works.
The DA’s Piera Abbott said that public works is in a state of crisis.
Abbott added that the minister has described it as being in the intensive care unit.
She added that there is no excuse to just paying municipal accounts every month.
