On Tuesday afternoon a man was struck by a car in Tongaat, Durban.
It is believed that the man was trying to cross the roadway near the N2 when he landed in front of a vehicle.
Paramedics said the man is fighting for his life in hospital.
Netcare’s Chris Botha said the man sustained very critical injuries.
He added that after paramedics placed the man on a ventilator, they transported him to a provincial hospital where he remains in a very critical condition.
