Truck driver to remain in custody

The Barberton Magistrate’s Court in Mpumalanga has ruled that the driver of the truck that was hit by a train on Friday has to stay in custody.

A total of 26 farmworkers on the truck were killed.

The case against 32-year-old George Mandlazi was postponed to the 14th of next month.

In another case in the province, the Delmas Magistrate’s Court granted bail of one-thousand-Rands each to three men accused of killing a five-month-old baby and his day mother.
