Zwelinzima Vavi says a serious mindset change is needed in the ANC if it wants to retain power in the future.
The Cosatu secretary general called on party leaders to abandon factionalism which he claims is hampering efforts to curb poverty and inequality.
Speaking inPretoria yesterday, Vavi also warned delegates that opposition parties are gaining the upper hand while the ANC is preoccupied with leadership battles.
He added that factional battles within in the ANC have led to an inconsistency in enforcing discipline. He says the party needs acts to swiftly against factionalism at the next conference.
