Cape Town’s disaster response teams have reacted swiftly in response to the recent severe weather conditions that caused localised flooding in and around the City.
Spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says since the 26th of last month, more than six thousand households have been assisted.
He says a million rands have been spent on disaster relief efforts following the heavy downpours.
The disaster teams have been put on high alert again and people living in low lying areas have been warned to contact authorities should they be flooded out of their homes.
