The Western Cape education department has responded by saying the ANC’s book shortage claims are false.
MEC Grant’s spokesperson Bronagh Casey says books have been delivered to all four schools in question.
Casey says they never denied that there was a shortage of books at one school and have already assisted with the problem.
Meanwhile the ANC in the Western Cape is protesting outside the office of Premier Helen Zille in Cape Town.
ANC provincial leader Marius Fransman says they are demonstrating against the shortage of teachers, learning materials and facilities at poor schools, as well as the random closure of schools in the province.
