Thirty-seven oiled African Penguins have been captured on Robben Island after being infected by bunker oil that washed ashore from the Seli One.
The Turkish bulk carrier was stranded near Dolphin Beach in September 2009.
Cape Town Disaster Risk Management says two chicks were also found alone on the island after their parents were captured.
The chicks have been removed to prevent other birds from preying on them. The penguins will be treated at Sanccob in Table View before being taken back to Robben Island.
