The Western Cape Department of Health has announced that the GF Jooste Hospital will be rebuilt.

The construction will begin in 2013 and is expected to be completely by 2016.

Department Spokesperson Helene Rossouw said the closure of GF Jooste is essential to ensure state of the art facilities in a rapidly expanding community.

There have been organisations opposing the closure of the Hospital, because they felt there was not enough consultation.
