Oil spill clean-up operations are continuing off the coast of Cape Town after oil leaked from the wreckage of a ship that ran aground on the beach at Table View in 2009.

Strong winds reportedly caused the Seli One to break into parts leading to the spill.

Wilfred Solomons-Johannes of the City’s Disaster Risk Management Centre says the latest aerial surveillance by marine patrol aircraft reveals that much of the oil spotted over the weekend has been cleared up.
