The Chief of the South African National Defence Force has cautioned people, including Julius Malema, not to interfere with the management of the Force.
The expelled ANC Youth League leader cause military bases to be placed on high alert when he addressed a group of soldiers near Lenasia, Johannesburg, on Wednesday.
Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga says in a statement issued today that the SANDF is the last line of defence and may not be used to promote or harm the interests of any political party or organisation.
He warns that doing so is a criminal offence.
