United Democratic Movement Youth league says Agriculture has been one of the key economic sectors in South Africa pre and post democratic dispensation in 1994.

UDMY league says this sector is undermined and neglected by the current government through its redress measures that do not necessary empower the people to use a natural resource like land profitably in order to enhance livelihoods.

Abel Rangata said that it is shocking that the number of commercial farmers has decreased.

Rangata also said the land redistribution in South Africa has disempowered the people who were supposed to be empowered.

He added that government needs to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the people.
