The City of Cape Town said it has assisted
more than 52 000 residents after a series of cold fronts and storms hit the Cape last weekend.
Mopping operations are still continuing but
residents especially in informal settlements have been warned for more rough
weather on the horizon.
Disaster Management spokesperson, Wilfred
Solomons Johannes said an early warning system has been put in place to
improve emergency response times.
Johannes added that all rescue and disaster agencies were on standby for the next cold front which they expected over the next weekend.
