Grahamstown Police this morning arrested four suspects during routine highway patrol.

The four suspects are between the ages of 22 and 37.

Captain Mali Govender said when officers were conducting routine checks on the N2 near Settlers Monument they stopped a long distance bus.

Upon searching the bus officers discovered dagga in several bags in the luggage compartment.

Govender said one of the suspects boarded the bus in Mtata, headed for Mossel Bay and the other three boarded in Kokstad on their way to Swellendam.

She added that the street value of the dagga is estimated at R49 700 and all the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
