Cape Town Mayor Patricia De Lille embarked a know your contractor, know your community campaign a couple of weeks ago.

The campaign was disrupted by residents who pelted the Mayor allegedly for not inviting their councillors into these meetings.

The Mayors’s Spokesperson Solly Malatsi said they will not be deterred in their efforts to educate the public about service delivery.

Malatsi said the Mayor had planned eight meeting with the communities and up to so far three meetings have been held, in two of those meetings there were disruptions in Phillipi and Samora Machel.

Mayor alleged that some members of the African National Congress Youth League ocastrated these disruptions.

Meanwhile the ANCYL has denied these allegations.

Nico Mzalisa a Councillor in Samora Machel said he was notified of the meeting but on the day of the meeting and when he arrived the disruptions had started already.

Mzalisa further said the allegations that their members are involved are not true, these are the acts of the residents who are not happy with the bucket toilets that have not been cleaned for the last three months.
