The Western Cape Health Department said its health hotline has proven to be very successful.
The department will be rolling out the hotline across the entire province in the next three years.
Between August 2012 to May 2013, the call centre received more than 1 300 complaints of which 1 100 were resolved.
Ministerial Spokesperson Helene Rossouw explains that they demonstrated how the calls come in, how the call centre receives it and the process that they follow to resolve a patience complaint.
“The hotline has shown that it is very successful and that people use it and the resolution is 80 percent,” added Rossouw.
