KZN police arrested more than 100 suspects

Police in KwaZulu Natal over the weekend conducted a major operation which saw 108 suspects being arrested for a range of offences including drug dealing, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and for being in South Africa illegally.

Major Thulani Zwane said these suspects were arrested after a number of operation that was conducted such as kwaMashu, Umlazi and Inanda.

Zwane added that during the operation they confiscated a firearm, drugs, alcohol, dangerous weapons, stolen goods and counterfeit goods.

All the arrested suspects will be charged for various charges and they are expect to appear today in various Magistrate Courts.  Zwane

KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, congratulated the security forces involved in the operations for their approach in targeting crime hot spots.
