Three woman killed after freak accident in KwaZulu Natal

Three woman have been killed and nine others injured late afternoon on Wednesday after a freak accident on the P134 District Road in Howick, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring reported ER24 paramedics along with provincial services, responeded to the scene and on their arrival, found a bakkie and large parked on the side of the road.

Occupants that had been sitting on the back of the bakkie were found sitting around the vehicle

On assessment, paramedics found that three woman had sustained multiple fatal injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients for their and thereafter transported them to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

Meanwhile, a man was left in a critical condition yesterday after he was hit by a bakkie on the R42 Barrage Road in Vaderbijlpark.

Meiring explained when ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found a male patient lying on the slipway near one of the offramps.

On assessment paramedics found that the man had sustained severe injuries to his legs and head.

Treatment and advanced life support interventions were performed on the patient and once stable, he was transported to Sebokeng Hospital for urgent treatment.
