Two homeless people were shot and wounded during an eviction that went wrong yesterday.

Police are said to have opened fire with rubber bullets as an eviction turned violent at a Ravensmead school.

At about 7:30am, Johannes Bastian, 40, and Cynthia Donberg, 36, were shot at the Florida Primary School.

According to the Cape Argus police had been called in to evict about 300 people.

The people had moved into the building after they were evicted from backyard dwellings a year ago.
