North West Premier Thandi Modise said she is upbeat about the launch of the first solar energy farm and the first renewable energy project.
The project will supply power to the Eskom grid and produce 250 000 Megawatts of energy over the next 20 years.
The project will be launched today by the Minister of Energy Dipuo Peters.
Premier Modise Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said this ground breaking launch attest to progress register towards removal of barriers towards the uptake of renewable energy technologies through the creation of strategic financial technical and other enabling environment.
