The United Democratic Movement said on Monday that the time has now come for each member of the tripartite alliance to go its own way.

This comes in the light of the recent infighting that has only become worse, by many other factors in particular the fact that COSATU affiliates are unhappy with the way the alliance partners have been conducting themselves.

UDM secretary General Bongani Msomi said the UDM calls on each partner to concentrate on its mandate, such as unions to focus on work related issues not political issues.

Msomi added that it is not good for unions to be associated with government because government is the employer.
