Mitchell’s Plain police arrested a 28-year-old man on Thursday, for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
‘’The members followed up on information this
morning about firearms at a house in Nile Way, Portland, Mitchell’s Palin. Upon
their arrival at the address, they found a man with two backpacks in his
possession.’’ Said SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana
Four firearms with ammunition, two laptops with
accessories, and other items were confiscated.
In a separate incident, police also arrested
two suspects in Tafelsig.
‘’Upon their arrival at the house, police
searched a wendy house in the yard and found two firearms and 79 rounds of
ammunition. Two suspects aged 29 and 32 were arrested.’’
The three suspects are due to appear in the
Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court, once they have been charged.
