Men Found with Stolen Chicken Boxes to Appear in Court

On Wednesday last week 19 men were found in a hijacking attempt with 1155 boxes of frozen chicken worth over R600 000 on Ottery Road, Wynberg.  They were later found at Cochrane Avenue in Epping loading boxes of chicken onto the vehicle.

The suspects range from 19 to 25 – years – old with a 45 years - old male leader. 

Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa stated that not only chicken was seized but “a fire arm with ammunition was also found on one of the suspects. It has been sent for a ballistic testing to determine if it was used in the commission of a crime. The truck used for the attempt was found in Bellville.” added Potelwa

They are set to appear at the Goodwood Magistrate Court tomorrow,11 of August with charges of possession of stolen goods.
