Afriforum has said that farm murders should be prioritised like rhino poaching.
This comes after the recent murder of Frans Modisa a farm labourer from Ventersdorp.
The Deputy Chief Executive of Afriforum Ernst Roets said they don’t agree with the recent statement by the president that it doesn’t need to be declared a priority crime because it’s only seen as murder.
Roets said that type of argument was not acceptable when a programme of action had to be addressed for rhino poaching.
He added that it didn’t stop the South African government from implementing programmes to address violence against women and children.
