A group of people who had invaded land in Delft illegally have been evicted.

The Human Settlements Department today confirmed that several people had invaded state owned properties in Delft on Wednesday night.

Departmental Spokesperson Bruce Oom said that the structures are intended for the accommodation of housing beneficiaries who are waiting for their state funded homes to be completed.

Oom added that the Department did clear the eviction with the local police station.
