The Department of Environmental Affairs says it is succeeding in its fight to curb rhino poaching in South Africa.

At least 281 rhino have been killed this year, while 176 suspects have been arrested.

Environmental Affairs spokesperson Albie Modise says the number of rhino’s being poached is decreasing every month.

He adds that it is thanks to a joint operation by the police, army and former game rangers.
