The DA has come out as saying the fact that the National Prosecuting Authority is in contempt of court is a threat to South Africa’s constitutional democracy.

DA leader Helen Zille said the NPA ignored an order by the Supreme Court of Appeal that should provide the party with the record of the decision involving the dropping of charges against President Jacob Zuma.

Zille said is it possible that there are no internal NPA memoranda reports or minutes of meetings in which the watershed decision was taken.

She added that there were no such meetings.

Zille said is it possible that there was no rational basis on which the crucial decision was taken.
