Death toll at Lonmin rises to 10

The Congress of South African Trade Unions condemned the ongoing violent protest at Lonmin mine.

About ten people have lost their lives since the outbreak.

 The federation has extended its condolences to the families and friends who have lost their lives in the violence.

Cosatu’s Phindile Kunene said that Cosatu will continue to support the National Union on Mineworkers.

She added that as Cosatu they call upon the Company as well as the law enforcement to ensure that the culprits are brought to justice.
