The long-awaited revised National Development Plan intends to slash unemployment to six-percent by 2030.
Minister in the Presidency Trevor Manuel handed the NDP to President Jacob Zuma in Parliament on Wednesday.
It aims to create 11-million jobs over the next 18 years.
Manuel says the intention is to accelerate the pace of change, with bold, ambitious but realistic objectives.
It envisages that South Africans’ per capita income should increase from about 50-thousand-Rands per person to about 120-thousand-Rands over the next two decades.
