Extreme weather blow off roofs

Disaster response teams in the Province have been activated to areas like Philliphi, Hout Bay and Bishop Lavis after heavy rainfall and strong winds resulted in many being displaced.

Flooding and gale force winds has caused roof tops to be blown off in Cape Town. Chapman’s Peak Drive has been closed since Friday night.

Disaster Risk Managements Wilfred-Solomans Johannes said they have assisted 300 families thus far.
