International Down Syndrome conference hosted in SA

South Africa will be hosting the 11th International conference on Down Syndrome this month.

The conference is led by Down Syndrome South Africa and will run from Tuesday to Friday next week in Cape Town. 

Down Syndrome South Africa CEO Vanessa dos Santos says there is a lack of understanding and knowledge about the disability.

She added that it because of the lack of understanding around this disability it is difficult to integrate people with Down Syndrome into mainstream society.
