The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union said it is aware of the threats of disciplinary action against its members who took part in the march last week.

More than a thousand administrative staff from the SAPS marched in eight provinces over police salary grades.

The march was said to be illegal by the employer.

Popcru’s Spokesperson Theto Mahlakoana said Popcru has been worried by the reports that their march was illegal and the union will ensure that none of their members would be punished for participating on the march because that is their right.

Mahlakoana added that the march was legal and the members had every right to march.
