The Western Cape Liquor Authority closed down an establishment in Wynberg this is after breaking several liquor laws.

MEC of Economic Opportunities Alan Winde said the Liquor Authority is responsible for making sure the province’s 8 140 licensed outlets were following the Western Cape’s liquor laws.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said we are sending a clear message that irresponsible trading will not be tolerated.

“License traders who breaks the law will face the harsh penalties such as fines or even closure. Illegal sheebans fall under the SAPS and we hope they proposed the amendments to the Western Cape Liquor act we have a clever way for police to enforce at an illegal,” Jooste added.
