Taxi collision injures 12 people in Pietermaritzburg

Twelve have been injured this morning after a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided on the FJ Sithole Road in Edendale, Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 Spokeperson Pieter Rossow said the incident is believed to be a head on collision.

Rossouw added that when ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that 12 people had been injured in the collision. Their injuries ranged from minor to moderate.

He said paramedics treated and transported ten patients. Nine to Edendale Hospital and one patient to St. Anne’s Hospital.

The cause of the collision will remain the subject of a police investigation.
