The Western Cape MEC of Economic Opportunities Alan Winde has called on local businesses to submit their comments and help to develop the Western Cape’s Economy.

Winde said in a statement that the Western Cape’s population is increasing annually by an average of 2% compared to national’s 1.3% growth.

At the start of September, the Western Cape Government Red Tape Reduction Unit, will launch its Biz Challenge which will enable businesses to identify the most problematic aspects of the Visa Regulations.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said, we have seen in average that each month there are 300 new business registrations in the Western Cape, which is very encouraging.

She said on the other side we see that in the first quarter the new visa regulations carried a loss of 384 million rand to the Western Cape economy.
