Twenty people, including fourteen high school pupils have been hospitalized after two taxis collides at the intersection of Symphony Way and Erica Drive in Delft.
Upon arrival at the scene, emergency services found both taxis at the intersection, one of which was lying on its side.
“Fourteen high school children from one of the taxis sustained minor injuries, another five people from the other taxi also sustained minor injuries and one patient sustained moderate injuries,” said ER24 spokesperson Tristan Wadeley.
The patients were taken by ER24 and Metro EMS ambulances to Delft Day Hospital and Tygerberg Hospital for further treatment.
“It is alleged that the taxi found lying on its side was "T-boned" by the other taxi which caused it to overturn. Police and traffic officials helped to regulate traffic around the incident but the collision still caused a delay in travelling time,” said Wadeley.
