The trial of the four murder accused is set to continue in the Cape High court today after it was postponed yesterday due a sudden change in the legal counsel by one of the accused.
The men from Langa are accused of murdering two police officers for their service pistol in 2006.
Bulelani Vellem, Lucky Mthembu, Mninawa Phela, Phumele Vaaiboom and Chumani Sibanda were charged with the murders of Constable Zuko Golimpi and Sergeant Luvuyo Mnyada.
Both officers were shot in the head.
Their vehicle crashed into a fence in nearby Merrimman Street.
The four men allegedly took the officer’s service pistols ans sped away in a getaway car driven by Vellem.
The four men are in police custody while they await trial.
