The bail application of eight Khayelitsha police officers accused of beating a suspect to death continues today in the Khayelitsha Magistrates court.
The deceased was in their custody last month and the suspects allegedly accused him of stealing a police firearm.
During yesterday’s bail hearing the prosecutor produced a docket that contains evidence linking one of the suspects to a separate murder case.
According to the state accused no five, 28 year Lundi Gumenge’s murder case was under investigation and the state was in the process of arresting him.
The eight are facing charges of murder, assault, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.
