Water supply to Fish Hoek to be disrupted

The City of Cape Town's Water and Sanitation Department will shut down the water supply line from the Ranger Road Reservoir in Fish Hoek today, to replace a valve on the corner of 14th Avenue and Nelson Street.

The water supply will be disrupted from 09:00am to 16:00pm.

This will result in either low water pressure or no water at all in the area below the reservoir.

“The Department will try to re-route the water supply in the area in order to limit the area affected by the disruption. A water tanker will be placed in Ivanhoe Street (near the Spar) to supply residents with drinking water during this period,” said City spokesperson Farouk Robertson.

The City has requested that residents ensure that all taps stay closed during this period to avoid the loss of large volumes of water or water damage, in case the water supply is restored and nobody is at home.
