NSRI found a man’s body in Hermanus

National Sea Rescue Institute in Hermanus were activated following a request for assistance from police to recover an unidentified body found floating in the Fisherhaven Lagoon near Hermanus. 

NSRI said it is unknown the length of time that the body had been in the water and the circumstances that led to the body being in the water. 

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said when paramedics arrived on the scene they launched a sea rescue craft and discovered the body of an unidentified male’s bod.

“The body has been handed down to forensic pathology services; police have opened an inquest docket and are investigating the circumstances surrounding this instance” Lambinon added.
