Minister Joe Phaahla said four people have died amid ongoing protests by members of the NEHAW Union

Health Minister Joe Phaahla said four people have died amid ongoing protests by members of the National Education, Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu)

This was said during a visit by Phaahla at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital earlier today. The minister said a government legal team was considering what action to take in regard to the deaths, adding that could be "attributed directly to the strike".

Nehawu and several other public servant unions have been locked in a wage dispute with the government.
