A fire that broke out in Victoria Road, Woodstock on
Tuesday afternoon, resulted in nine shops being damaged.
The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Service’s Spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse said, firefighters received the emergency call at 14:35.
Carelse added that the cause of the fire appeared to have
originated in the roof void.
‘’Fire crews from Salt River, Roeland Street, Milnerton,
Epping and Brooklyn fire stations attended to the scene. The blaze was
extinguished at 17:40 and the cause is unknown,’’ said Jermaine Carelse, City
of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Service’s Spokesperson.
‘’No injuries were reported and the building was closed
pending an assessment by a Structural Engineer,’’ he added.
