SADC elects Dlamini-Zuma as candidate for chairperson of the AU

The SADC has nominated minister of home affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma as the candidate of the Southern Region for the position of chairperson of the African Union Commission.


She said if she is elected she will be working there full time, she will not be stretched between South Africa.

Dlamini-Zuma said she will be implementing what has been agreed by the AU and not what has been agreed by SA.

She added that the AU should look at the merit of the candidates and decided and leave all the other issues.
