Unhappiness over relocated families

Some families along Potsdam Road have had to be moved off city-owned land to allow for the construction of a dedicated MyCiti bus service expansion lane.

The 14 relocated families say where the city has placed them is unsafe and they were not provided with sufficient building materials.

City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlement, Ernest Sonnenberg said that the families were informed about the move after consulting with the necessary officials.

He said that the families have been provided with sanitation and a water stand pipe.
