Violent protests in SA escalate

Violent protests across the country seem to be on the rise.

This comes after deaths in mine unrest in North West and violent demonstrations in Cape Town claimed another life on Monday night.

Johan Burger from the Institute for Security Studies says government, be it local or national, needs to resolve the root of the problems.

He said this needs to be done rather than just using the police to contain the situations.
