North West Premier Thandi Modise on
Thursday said the National Development Plan is the key to youth
empowerment.
The programme for June Month 2013 was kick
started last week when 1 000 youth volunteers participated in the cleaning
and painting of centres, as part of the Proud to Serve Youth Campaign.
Spokesperson to the Premier Lesiba Kgwele said that the premier said that the national development plan is the key to addressing skills development and unlocking economic opportunities that would empower young people to participate in the mainstream economy.
He added that the premier will deliver the
keynote speaker to thousands of young people, who are expected to be part of
the provincial celebration to be held under the theme: Working together for
youth development and drug free South Africa
