Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters visited
Lwandle informal settlement on Tuesday following evictions of people who
occupied the land set for the construction of the N2 road.
Minister Peters called on the City of Cape Town to take some
responsibility for the evictions. She
added that what is happening in Lwandle is a big humanitarian concern.
Ministerial Spokesperson Jomo Khasu said
the Minister has given instructions that the Sanral court order be put on hold
and for engagement with important stake holders such as the community to take
place.
“This is the latest position and this is
the official position of the Minister Khasu added.
