280 ex soldiers hired to boost security on Metrorail

Metrorail has deployed former army forces to boost safety measures aboard trains this festive season. 

Western Cape Regional Manager Mthuthuzeli Swart said they have recruited 280 former MK combatants and ex soldiers.

Swart also said they have employed 150 unemployed youth who are being trained in security, unharmed combat and intelligence gathering. 

Regional Manager Mthuthuzeli Swart added that they hope with the addition of the extra security personnel’s they will then be in a position to offer a more reliable service and safer mode of transport for commuters.
