Matric IEB results were released yesterday
while the results of government schools will be released on Thursday.
The Young Communist League of South Africa
has called on the Basic Education Department to stop publishing matric results
in newspapers.
Spokesperson Khaya Xaba says they have
raised the issue with the department.
Xaba says publishing the results in
newspapers only benefits publishers.
Meanwhile, the Basic Education Department
says it will consult members of the public, parents, learners and other
stakeholders on whether to continue publishing matric results in newspapers or
not.
It says it has the concerns that the Young
Communist League of South Africa has raised.
