The Western
Cape Education Department on Saturday said six news schools will be opening in
the province at the start of the new school year.
The
department's Bronagh Casey said they plan to build 26 new learning facilities
over the next three years.
The department
also said it was assisting parents who are struggling to find placements for
their children.
On Friday, the
Western Cape High Court ruled that 17 of the 18 schools that were marked for
closures could remain open for now.
Sunningdale Primary,
Concordia Primary and High School, are just three of the schools.
“Two primary
and four high schools are planned to open at the beginning of 2013 academic
year” Casey said.
Casey said that
if anyone would like to enrole their children in any of the schools, they can
do so by contacting WCED website where they will receive the schools’ contact
details.
