The search for the missing 8 year old Nayanga
girl who was washed off the rocks at a beach near Mouille Point on the Cape Peninsula has been called off
after her body was recovered earlier today.
The child disappeared after being washed
out to sea yesterday afternoon.
Wilfred Solomon Johannes adds that the
investigation had to be terminated last night due to rough sea
conditions and as well as poor visibility.
Solomon Johannes furthermore said that upon
first light this morning the search was resumed after which the body was recovered
successfully.
The authorities will send out social
workers to advise the parents or the next of kin around the successful recovery
of the body and also to provide the necessary trauma counselling
to the family.
